Richard Sommer

Richard Sommer, 73, of 1732 N. 10th St., a retired farmer, died late Thursday evening at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Mr. Sommer was born in the Town of Mosel Oct. 10, 1888, a son of the late Gottwerth and Elizabeth Sommer. He married Clara Berth, Oct. 12, 1916.

He operated his family's homestead farm until he retired in 1956. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Herbert of Sheboygan and Marvin of the Town of Mosel; two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Adeline) Cline of Belgium and Mrs. Edwin (Gertrude) Hickman of Sheboygan; 14 grandchildren; a brother, Adolph, of the Town of Mosel; and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Vogel of Cleveland.

Funeral services will be held at Nickel's Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. August Grollmus, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home until the time of services.
