William Herman, Rudolph and Charles F. Sommer received the sad news Sunday of the death of their mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Sommer. She died that morning after a long illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Vogel, Cleveland.
Mrs. Sommer, a native of Germany, was 77 years of age, born February 9, 1846. She came to this country with her parents in 1869 and with them settled in the town of Mosel, where she married and where she made her home till 1916, at which time she went to live with her daughter. Her husband Gottwerth H. Sommer, died in 1905.
Mrs. Sommer was her husband's second wife. Louis, of Howards Grove, and William Sommer are the surviving children of the first marriage. The others are Herman, Rudolph and Charles F. of Sheboygan; Ed. of Preston MN; Gust of Colby, WI; Mrs. Robert Vogel of Cleveland; Mrs. Otto Sixel of Centerville.
Two sisters, three brothers, 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral will take place Tuesday at 1 from the Vogel residence, and at 1:30 from St. Marcus church, with services by Rev. Fuerst. The remains will rest in the family lot in the church cemetery.
