Norman Peterson's Obituary - Norman Peterson To Be Buried At Gran July 8th, 1960

Norman A. Peterson, 69, a lifelong resident of the Mayville area, passed away at the State hospital at Jamestown, N. D. Sunday afternoon, July 3, 1960, after a long illness. He had been hospitalized for the last 10 months and an invalid for the last 10 years.

He was born Sept 20, 1890 in Norway Township, Traill County. His parents were early pioneers, Andrew and Anne Peterson. The youngest of seven sons, he was baptized and confirmed in Gran Lutheran Church. As a young lad he started working on farms in the community. In 1915 he took over management of the home farm with his mother. He was forced to quit farming in 1950 on account of failing health. Since that time he made his home with his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Berg of this city until he had to be hospitalized.

He is survived by two brothers, Carl S. Peterson of Mayville, and Arthur Peterson of Havre, Montana, and a sister, Mrs. Melvin (Maggie) Berg of Mayville. Also a great number of nieces and nephews. His parents, four brothers and 5 sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 8 at 2 p.m. at Gran Lutheran Church. Rev. T. K. Spande officiating. Burial will be in the family plot of the church cemetery. Egge Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers are: Honorary, Selmer Waslien, Henry Hysven, Edwin Ulland, Emil Ulland, Enling Groth, Alvin Eastvold, Alvin Stommer and Chester Viseth; inactive, Gerhand Ammrgaard, Palmer Grindeland, Leon Moen, Odin Kaklor, McLain Paulson, and Arthur Strom.
