Miss Emma Peterson, a young lady of some twenty years, suddenly dropped dead from heart disease last Sunday evening, Oct 4, 1903, under, peculiarly distressing circumstances. A few friends had gathered at the home of Halvor Hanson that evening to note a birthday event. It was nearly midnight when the guests were invited to the late G. H. Molden's residence, a distance of half a mile, to partake of refreshments. It was at this time the young lady first complained of feeling ill and she was driven over, the rest walking. Miss Peterson and her escort had barely reached the place when with scarcely a moan she was summoned to the great beyond. Deceased was a daughter of the late Andrew Peterson; her brothers, Peter and Ludvig, being well-known Mayville twp. farmers. The interment took place at the Gran Church seven miles south east of Mayville. Pastor Lien, of Hillsboro, officiating.
