Roy worked for Sturgeon Bay Utilities for 35 years, and then worked at Bay Ship Building for 4 years. He was an active member of WWOA (Wisconsin Wastewater Operators Association).
Survivors include two children, Paula (John II) Sullivan, Sturgeon Bay; Richard (Katherine) LaViolette, Sturgeon Bay; three grandchildren, Patrick and Paige Sullivan, and Ava LaViolette; siblings, Donna Nicholson, Doris Wolske, Faye (Willard) Kolstad, Louie (Susie) LaViolette; in-laws, Leonard Kleinschmidt, Wendy Hansen, Joann Lauder, Julie (Todd) Sternard, Robert (Shannon) Lauder, and Sophie LaViolette.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; siblings, Phyllis (Phillip) Nelson, Mildred (Lawrence) Monfils, Vivian (Wayne) Johnson, Kenneth (Jane) LaViolette, Virginia (Charlie) Meunier, Shirley Pagel, Keith LaViolette; and brothers-in-law, Mike Lauder, Dan Lauder, Daryl Wolske, Don Viste, Tom Nicholson, Ray Chase, Fred Grapendine, and Jack Pagel; sister-in-law, Jayme Kleinschmidt.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 5, 2022, at Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay with Rev. Olin Sletto officiating. Burial will be in Hainesville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home on Friday.
