Kenneth S. LaViolette, age 61, passed away Tuesday evening, March 9, 1994, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, after an 11 year effort to conquer Multiple Myeloma. He had been employed at Heresite Protective Coatings as plant manager until his illness forced his retirement on January 31, 1994.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 1994, at St. John's United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Robert Meyer with burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens. Military Graveside rites will be accorded by American Legion Drews Bleser Post No. 88.
Ken was born on July 25, 1932, in Gardner, Wis., to the late Louis and Artice LaViolette. He was a graduate of Sturgeon Bay High School in 1950. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the 5th Regimental Combat Team, having attained the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service.
On April 26, 1952, he married the former Jane Demmin at Valmy, Wis. She survives along with three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Claran, Manitowoc, Loren (Chip) and Terri, Manitowoc, Lane and special friend, Terri Andersen, Baraboo; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Rick Paulson, Manitowoc, Lori (Missy) and Duane Wiegand, Sturgeon Bay. Eleven grandchildren also survive. He is further survived by eight sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Phyllis (Philip) Nelson, Forestville, Wis., Mrs. Mildred (Lawrence) Monfils, Brussels, Wis., Mrs. Vivian (Wayne) Johnson, Cleveland, Wis., Mrs. Virginia (Charles) Meunier, Kellnersville, Wis., Mrs. Donna (Tom) Nicholson, Sturgeon Bay, Wis., Mrs. Shirley (Fred) Grapentine, Manitowoc, Mrs. Doris (Daryle) Wolske, Algoma, Wis., Mrs. Faye (Willard) Kolstad, Forestville, Wis.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Keith and June, Casco, Wis,. Roy and Mary, Sturgeon Bay, Louie and Susie, Brussels, Wis.; five sisters-in-law, Erlene (Dale) Irwin, Rochester, Ind,. Merce (Lester) Niemuth, Sturgeon Bay, Wis., Joyce (Dick) Vertz, Kansas City Kan., Kerrin (Don) Rae, Menasha, Wis., Joaneh (Harland) Otis, Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; two brothers-in-law, Chris Jr. (Carol) Demmin, Sturgeon Bay, Wis, Russ (Nancy) Demmin, Sturgeon Bay, Wis.,; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at St. John's United Church of Christ from 10 am. Until the time of service at 11 a.m.
