Funeral Services Conducted Today For Late Frank Berth

Funeral services for Frank Berth, 81, who passed away Saturday at the home of his son, Herman, at MIllersville, were held at 1:30 p.m. today at the residence and at 2 o'clock at St. Paul's Lutheran church near Millersville. The Rev. Herman Kuether officiated and burial was made in the church cemetery in the town of Sheboygan Falls.

Mr. Berth was born Dec. 10, 1856, in the town of Herman. He was married Nov. 24, 1888, to Miss Wilhelmina Wilke and the couple located on a farm in the town of Herman and since 1929 Mr. Berth had made his home with his son. His wife preceded him in death on Dec. 30, 1930.

He is survived by four sons, Henry of Millersville, Edgar and Arthur of the town of Centerville, and Herman on the homestead; three daughters, Mrs. Richard Sommer of the town of Mosel, Mrs. John Ney of the town of Wilson, and Mrs. August Illig of Menasha; one adopted son, Herbert Sohn, of the town of Lima; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Julius of Kiel and Fred of the town of Herman; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Alten of Plymouth and Mrs. Herman Karsteadt of Howards Grove.

Mr. Berth was well-liked by his many friends in this vicinity and was a kind, loving father, who was greatly devoted to his home and family. The many beautiful floral tributes at the funeral and the large number of relatives and friends who viewed the body and attended the services attest to the esteem in which he was held.

BERTH, FRANK

Julius Berth on Saturday received the news of the death of
his brother, Frank, who had passed away that day at Millersville,
at the home of his son Herman.

The deceased, aged 81, was born December 10, 1856, in the town of
Herman and November 24, 1888, he was united in marriage with Miss
Wilhelmina Wilke, and the couple located on a farm in School Hill.
In 1911, they moved to a farm in the town of Herman, and since 1929
Mr. Berth made his home with his son.

He is survived by four sons and three daughters, namely: Henry and
Herman of Millersville, Edgar and Arthur of, near Centerville; Mrs.
Richard Sommer of the town of Mosel, Mrs. John Ney of the town of
Wilson, and Mrs. August Illig of Menasha. Other survivors are, an
adopted son, Herbert Sohn of the town of Lima; 12 grandchildren;
two brothers, Fred of the town of Herman and Julius of here, and
two sisters, Mrs. Anna Alten of Plymouth and Mrs. Herman Karstaedt
of Howards Grove.

Funeral services were held on Monday at the farm home at 1:30 p. m.
and at 2 o’clock at the St. Paul’s Lutheran church near Millersville,
with the Rev. Herman Kuether officiating. Burial was made in the church
cemetery in the town of Sheboygan Falls beside the remains of his wife,
who preceded him in death December 30, 1930. - 6-2-1938
