Mabel E. Liermann, age 85, of 13201 Rusch Road, Valders, Wisconsin, entered eternal life on Tuesday afternoon, May 17, 2011 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc surrounded by her loving family.

Mabel was born on May 2, 1926 in Kiel, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Helmuth and Edna (Bratz) Boeldt. Mabel attended Kiel High School and graduated with the class of 1944. She continued her education at the University of Oshkosh and went on to teach various classes of kindergarten through 8th grade for 17 years. On August 18, 1954 she married Kermit Liermann and shared 56 plus years of marriage. Mabel also became a business partner operating the Liermann Sawmill. Mabel was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church along with the church choir, the Ladies Aid and a former Sunday School assistant. She was also a member of the Badger Homemakers and was a reporter for the LWMS mission society of churches. Mabel enjoyed helping others, especially her extended family.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years: Kermit; two sons and three daughters-in-law: Allen and Ann Liermann, Newton; Dale and Mary Kay Liermann, Clover; Mary Liermann, rural Valders; one daughter and son-in-law: Susan and Eric Vant Hul, Cleveland, WI; thirteen grandchildren: Brad, Peter, Amber, Alex, Abby, Eli, Ruby, Jada, Myra and Liza Liermann, Brittany Obester, Felicia and Evan Vant Hul; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Norman and Judith Boeldt, Howards Grove, WI; Vernon and Jane Boeldt, New Holstein, WI; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Marion and Otto Hartwig, Plymouth, WI; Betty Groth, Oshkosh, WI; Jane and Garret Hanke, Howards Grove, WI; one brother-in-law: Richard (Lorraine) Liermann, Manitowoc, WI; two sisters-in-law: Elaine Liermann, Eagle River, WI; Vera Liermann, Manitowoc; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son: James Liermann , Nov. 30, 2008; sisters and brothers-in-law: Lorraine and Markus Nagel, Willard and Fern Leiteritz, Bernice and Dennis Hasenstein, Donald Groth, Orville Liermann and Helmuth Liermann Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2011, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 11303 Wehausen Road in the town of Liberty. Officiating will be Rev. Gregory Pope with burial to follow at the church cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church on Thursday, May 19, 2011, from 5 to 8:00 p.m. and then on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Mabel’s name to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc Lutheran High School or to the family.
