The former Emma Roethel was born July 24, 1889, in the Town of Meeme, a daughter of Henry and Emma Boeldt Roethel. She attended the district school.
On Jan. 15, 1916, she was married to Mr. Mauk in the Town of Meeme. The couple settled on the Mauk home farm in the Town of Rhine which they operated until retiring in 1963. Mr. Mauk died March 25, 1977.
Mrs. Mauk was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Town of Rhine.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. George (Nelda) Clement, Collegeville, Pa.; two sons. Milton, Town of Russell, and Melvin, Town of Sheboygan; four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. George Feldmann and Mrs. Hildegarde Biskobing, both of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Norbert Grunewald. Howards Grove, and four brothers, George, rural Cleveland, Hugo, Oostburg, Reinhold, Kiel, and Arvin, Sheboygan.
A grandson, a sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter United Church of Christ, the Rev. Robert Matlach. pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, from' 4 p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday and at the church from noon until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Mauk's name for St. Peter UCC.
