* November 15, 1899 - Died, at the residence of E. D. Pennington, of this place, Miss Hester A. Elmore at 10 o'clock on Monday night, of typhoid malaria fever, aged 18 years and 7 months. She was a member of the Baptist church. Miss Elmore was taken sick about ten days ago and was removed to the home of her uncle, Mr. Pennington, where every attention possible was given her, but death, the fell destroyer, with the relentless scythe of time was not to be unheeded, and Hester, the dutiful daughter, the loving sister, is gone to that bourne from whence no traveler returns.
