Double Wedding Observed At Cleveland On Sunday
Many relatives and friends attended the double wedding anniversary celebration for Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wagner, who were married 24 Oct 1899 in Cleveland, Manitowoc, WI, and Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Wagner of Cleveland on Sunday evening, the occasion being their thirtieth anniversaries.

At five o'clock dinner was served for 150 guests at Tourist's Inn and during this time musical selections were played by Miss Marie Yekenevicz of Sheboygan and Herbert Schuster of Milwaukee. The Rev. Emil Schmit acted as toastmaster.

Dancing was enjoyed in the evening by about 800 guests to music furnished by Berkey Bluebirds' orchestra. Besides the immediate relatives and friends of the couples in this vicinity, the out-of-town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Wedding Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wagner of Cleveland were guests of honor at a surprise party at their home in observance of their thirty-fifth wedding anniversary. Surprise Party Held On Fortieth Wedding Sunday
The 10 sons and daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wagner, St. Wendel, surprised them at a party Sunday, observing their 40th wedding anniversary. Following a gathering at the home, the guests were taken to Strattmann's Winter Garden, Centerville, for an afternoon of cards and entertainment. At 5 p.m. dinner was served.

The children of the jubilarians, all of whom were present are Dr. Matt; Chicago; Dr. Paul and Mrs. William Brunmeier, Racine; Mrs. Louis Payleitner, Milwaukee; Alex and Mrs. Henry Herr, this city; Mrs. Roman Seipel, Spring Valley; Mrs. Fred Mayer and Mrs. John Mayer, Cleveland, and Herbert, at home. At the dinner also were the brothers and sisters of the couple. They are Henry Wagner, an attendant of the bridal couple 40 years ago; Mr. and Mrs. John Wagner, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Wagner, Mr, and Mrs. Peter Schwinn, Mrs. Nick Wagner and Joseph Schulte, all of this vicinity, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wolf of West Allis. Other guests were a nephew, the Rev. Edward Wagner, Osman; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Seipel, Mrs. Nell Schneider, Manitowoc; Mrs. Metzer, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Herr, Sr., this city; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Mayer, John Brunmeier, William Junk, Lawrence Wagner, Margaret Wagner, Josephine Schulte and Josephine Junk.

In the evening a dance was enjoyed in the hall. Lester Schmidt of this city furnished the music. The guests of honor were presented with several gifts.

Mr. and Mrs. Wagner were married at St. Wendel's Catholic church in 1899 and have lived on a farm adjoining the village since their marriage.

55th Wedding Anniversary Is Observed At St. Wendel
Festivities honoring the 55th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wagner, St. Wendel, Sunday, included a mass of Thanksgiving, a family dinner and open house.

Celebrant of the mass at St. Wendel Church. St. Wendel, was the Rev. Richard Keller. The dinner was held at Gretz's Hall, St. Wendel, and the table centerpiece was a decorated wedding cake, gift of a son, Dr. Matt Wagner and his family. Other decorations were in an autumn motif.

Open house was held at the hall during the afternoon hours and a cafeteria supper was served. Numerous relatives and friends called to extend best and wishes to the couple. Among many gifts received were a television set from the family, flowers, plants and money, as well as congratulatory messages, including a telegram from a nephew, the Rev. James Wagner O'Praem, Shelby, Mont.

Mrs. Wagner, the former Barbara Wolf, was born April 10, 1875, in St. Lawrence, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wolf. birthplace of her husband was Town Mosel on Feb. 27, 1874. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Matthias Wagner. He is the only survivor of his generation.

Marriage vows were exchanged on Oct. 24, 1904, in St. Wendel Church, St. Wendel, before the Rev. William Wolf, brother of Mrs. Wagner. The wedding was a double ceremony, since a sister of Mrs. Wagner, the former Catherine Wolf, became the wife of Jacob Wagner, brother of Frank Wagner. Both persons of that union are deceased.

Two persons who were present for the celebration on Sunday were Mrs. Walter Sprangers, Waldo, an attendant at the wedding 55 years ago., and Mrs. Helen Kohlbeck, Algoma, 89 years of age, who made the wedding gown for Mrs. Wagner. The Wagner family is comprised of the following ten sons and daughters. Mrs. Louis (Elizabeth) Payleitner, Cudahy; Mrs. Henry (Irene) Herr, Fond du Lac; Mrs. John (Armella) Mayer, Elkhart Lake; Mrs. Roman (Lidwina) Seipel, Newton: Mrs. Fred (Cecelia) Mayer and Mrs. William (Martha) Brunmeier, Cleveland: Dr. Matt Wagner, Chicago; Dr. Paul Wagner, Racine; Alex and Herbert Wagner, Sheboygan. Dr. Paul Wagner was only the one unable to be present. There also are 39 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Wagner, nee M. Barbara Wolf, aged 80, who passed away at a Milwaukee hospital on Saturday afternoon, after being confined there since Friday, following a cerebral hemmorage suffered while visiting at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Payleitner, at St. Francis, were held at 9:30 a. m. on Tuesday at the Stoltenberg Funeral Chapel in Cleveland, and at 10 a. m. at the St. Wendel Catholic Church in St. Wendel.

Burial was made in the family lot in the church cemetery. The Rev. Leonard Wagner O'Praem of Madison, was celebrant of the solemn requiem mass, with the Rev. Edward Wagner of Two Rivers as deacon, and the Rev. John Wolf of Milwaukee as sub deacon. All three are nephews of the deceased. Father Jerome Mersberger of Madison, a cousin of the deceased, was master of ceremonies. Also participating was the Rev. Richard Keller, pastor at St. Wendel. The adult choir sang, with Mrs. John Koerber at the organ. Pallbearers were: Donald Seipel, Wayne Wagner, Jackie Mayer, Donald Osborne, Robert Grimes, and Lyle Dassow, all grandsons of Mrs. Wagner.
