Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Salem Ebenezer Reformed church in Newton, the Rev. K. J. Stuebbe officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The body may be viewed at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home from 6 p.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday when it will be moved to the church to lie in state until the hour of services.
Mr. Franzmeier was born in 1866 in Centerville and married Charlotte Gosse in 1900. He operated his store in Newton from 1898 to 1940. Mrs. Franzmeier died 22 years ago.
Surviving are two daughters, Meta Franzmeier and Mrs. Ed Nass of Manitowoc; two sons, Emil of Newton and the Rev. Franzmeier of New Albin, Iowa; a twin-brother, Herman of Mosel; two step-brothers, Ernest and Adolph Grotegut of Centerville and seven grandchildren.
