Jacob Kissinger

Elkhart Lake – (Special) – Jacob Kissinger, 87, lifelong resident of the town of Rhine died at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Sinner, three miles east of here today. He had been in ill health for the past year and was confined to his bed since last Friday.

Mr. Kissinger was born at Germantown Station the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kissinger, Feb. 11, 1852. At the age of 11 weeks he came with his parents to the farm, now owned by Jacob Strub, one miles south of the present home. He married Katherine Feldmann, Nov. 9, 1873 and the couple lived on the homestead until 1906 when they bought the farm now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Sinner who took it over after the death of Mrs. Kissinger on October 28, 1916.

Survivors are three sons, John of Town Rhine, George of Town Meeme and Carl of Town Rhine, a daughter, Mrs. Sinner, Town Rhine, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Phillip Kissinger of Owen, Mrs. Caroline Goldammer of Elkhart Lake and Mrs. Dora Weiskopp of Plymouth. Two sons, William (15 months) and Jacob (32 years) preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at the Sinner home and at St. Peter Church in the town of Rhine. The Rev. Paul Thomas will officiate and interment will be made in the church cemetery.
