Mrs. Louisa Eisner, 91, One Of Oldest Twins In Nation Dies Early Today

Mrs. Louisa Eisner, 91, one of the nations oldest twins, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Loges, 1617 N. Twelfth street, at 12:10 a.m. today after a short illness.

Mrs. Eisner was a twin sister of Mrs. Eleanore Jung of this city and the widow of Gottlieb Eisner who preceded her in death twenty-nine years ago. When the twin sisters were quietly celebrating their 90th birthday anniversary on May 4, 1923, Governor Blaine sent them a congratulatory telegram, at the same time stating that his birthday was on the same day.

The deceased was born on May 4, 1833, in Werningshausen, Duchy of Gotha, Germany. Her parents were Heinrich Wilke and Sophie nee Kirst. When she was about six years old, her mother died of typhoid fever at the age of 42 years, and in 1851 her father came to America with his family via Hamburg and Quebec. During the voyage Mrs. Eisner and Mrs. Jung celebrated their eighteenth birthday anniversary.

The family proceeded from Quebec to Buffalo and Chicago, and then came on to Sheboygan by steamboat. Her father bought a farm and settled in the town of Wilson but later turned the farm over to his eldest son, Brigittus, and purchased a larger place in the town of Mosel.

Mrs. Eisner was married on September 7, 1852, to Gottlieb Eisner and they resided on a farm on the Lake Shore road six miles north of Sheboygan from then until 26 years ago. At that time the family moved to Sheboygan where Mr. Eisner died the following year. About 16 years ago Mrs. Eisner went to live with her youngest daughter, Mrs. Albert Loges, and remained with her since. She was the mother of twelve children, seven of whom are living and five deceased. Those living are: William of Minnesota, August of town of Mosel, Henry of Fenwood, Mrs. Otto Wunsch, of the town of Mosel, Mrs. Frank Rosenthal, Mrs. Henry Feld, and Mrs. Albert Loges, Sheboygan. The deceased children are Mrs. Wilhelmine Beyer, Mrs. Augusta Zelle, Ferdinand, Robert and Frederick Eisner. There are fifty-five grandchildren and seventy-five great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the home of Mrs. and Mrs. Albert Loges. The Rev. C. P. Schulz of Trinity Lutheran church will conduct the services and burial will be at the Lutheran cemetery.
