Mrs. Esther Gumm

Mrs. Esther Gumm, 54, wife of Edgar Gumm, town Mosel, passed away at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday following a lengthy illness.

Born Aug. 23, 1897, in Sheboygan, the daughter of William and Augusta Goetsch. She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran church school and was confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran church.

She was married to Edgar Gumm on March 5, 1921, and they located on the present farm in the town of Mosel where she was a faithful member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Reformed church, the Ladies Aid Society, and the Ladies Legion Auxiliary, Post No. 387.

Survivors are her husband; four children, Mrs. Conrad (Violet) Rausch of the town of Herman, Robert at home, Milton of the town of Herman and Mrs. Gilbert (Marion) Dedering of Kiel; ten grandchildren; three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Arthur Reseburg, Mrs. Theodore Hoerz and Arthur Goetsch of Sheboygan and Mrs. Elwood Siewert of Hyde Park, N.Y.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at St. Mark’s Evangelical Reformed church in the town of Mosel with the Rev. Carl Schmahl officiating and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Walter H. Ahrens Funeral home in Howards Grove from 1 p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday and at the church from noon Saturday until the time of the services.
