Robert P. Gumm, Sr.
Robert P. Gumm, Sr., 66, of Route 1, Cty MM, Cleveland, died Monday, January 23, 1999, at St. Nicholas Hospital, after an expanded illness.
He was born February 22, 1922, in the Town of Mosel, a son of the late Edgar and Esther Goetsch Gumm. Robert attended Haven Elementary School.
On November 24, 1943, he married Lorraine Sand at St. John's Lutheran Church in Two Rivers. After marriage the couple farmed on the Gumm homestead in the Town of Mosel. He retired in 1986. Robert was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, its church Consistory and the church choir. He was also a member of the Haven Fire Department.
Funeral services for Robert Gumm will be held Friday, at 1:30 p.m.at St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Town Mosel. The Rev Lloyd Fried will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Zimmer Funeral Home, in Howards Grove, on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
Survivors of Robert Gumm, Sr. include his wife, Lorraine, one son, Robert Gumm Jr., Town of Mosel; three daughters, Mrs. Alan (Katherine) Gabsch, Town of Mosel, Mrs. Richard (Karen) Binversie, of Howards Grove and Mrs. Lyle (Carol) Reinemann, of Howards Grove; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Milton of Kohler; one sister, Mrs. Gilbert (Marion) Dedering, of Kiel and one step-sister, Mrs. Conrad (Violet) Rausch, of Kiel.
