Elmer Leonhard
A funeral Mass for Elmer Anton Leonhard. 69, of Sheboygan, who died unexpectedly Friday in Hershey. Pa., while vacationing, will be Tuesday at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Preceding the Mass will be brief family rites at 9:20 a.m. at the Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home. The Rev. William J. Effinger, co-pastor of Holy Name Catholic Church will be the celebrant of the Mass. Cremation will follow the services with the urn being interred at Holy Cross Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home after 4 p.m. today. Mr. Leonhard was born Nov. 28. 1917. in Cleveland, a son of the late Norbert and Malitta Kress Leonhard. He attended schools in Cleveland and moved to Sheboygan in 1940. On Aug; 16, 1941. Mr. Leonhard was married to Bernice Gerrits at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Chilton. For 36 years he was employed at St. Nicholas Hospital as a surgical technician retiring in 1977 due to ill health. Mr. Leonhard was a member of Holy Name Church, Men's Catholic Order of Foresters, and Kaat's Coffee Club. Survivors include his wife, Bernice; two sons, Richard and Jerry both of Sheboygan; a daughter, Georgene Leonhard of Sheboygan; seven grandchildren, a brother, Arvin of Midville, Ga.; six sisters, Mrs. Lilliam Helf of Madison, Mrs. Irene Fiedler and Mrs. Robert (Marcella) Thielke of Cleveland, Mrs. Jerome (Dorothy) Koenig of Newton, Mrs. Margaret Meinnert of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Delmar (Helen) Ziarnick of Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. - A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Leonhard's name for St. Nicholas Hospital.
