August Hintz, 69, of Newton, died Tuesday at the St. Nicholas hospital in Sheboygan following a short illness.

He was born in Centerville in 1878 and in 1908 married Miss Hilda Dehne. He operated a farm in Centerville until three years ago when he moved to his present home in Newton.

Survivors are his wife; daughter, Mrs. Marvin Schmitz of Newton; son Reuben of Hika; two brothers, Gustave and Herman of Abbottsford, Wis.; and six grand-children.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Stoltenberg funeral home, Cleveland and at 2 o'clock at the Ebenezer St. John Reformed church. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery in this city. The body may be viewed after Thursday noon at the funeral home. The casket will not be opened in church.
