Cleveland Contractor Will Be Buried Friday Afternoon
Henry J. Born, 74, carpenter contractor, retired farmer and former Centerville town official, died Tuesday afternoon at his home in the village of Cleveland. He had been in poor health for the past five years. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. from the home at 1:30 p.m. and from the St. John and St. Peter Lutheran church at Cleveland.
Interment will be in the St. John's cemetery at Centerville.
The deceased was born in Newton in 1859 and located in Cleveland in 1883. He took up carpenter contracting and also engaged in farming before retiring to private life. He also served terms as a supervisor on the Centerville town board. In 1890 he was married to Alwina Jost at Cleveland. They made their home in the village for the past 44 years.
Survivors are his widow, three brothers, John and Jacob of this city and August of Collins; and two foster children, Mrs. Walter Wagner of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Frank Neuman of West Allis, Wis.
