Mrs. Alwina Carolyne Born, 95, a former Cleveland resident, died Monday morning at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Sheboygan, where she had resided for the past several months.
She was born Jan. 29, 1865, in the Town of Centerville, the daughter of the late Peter Paul and Catherine Brust Jost. On Nov. 30, 1890, she was married to Henry Born and they resided in Cleveland, where he was engaged as a carpenter. He died on Oct. 30, 1934. She was the oldest member of the St. John-St. Peter Lutheran Church in Cleveland and of its Ladies Aid Society.
She is survived by one brother, Otto Jost of Sheboygan; one adopted daughter, Mrs. Clara Mickleson of Madison; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. John-St. Peter Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Gerhard Cares officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Cleveland.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Stoltenberg Funeral Chapel in Cleveland to view the body.
