Mrs. Harry Karsteadt Dies At Millhome After Illness
Kiel—(Special)—Mrs. Harry Karsteadt, 41, resident of Millhome, died at the family residence today after being in ill health for some time. Apparently improving, her death was unexpected. She was born Frieda Rautmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Rautmann, town of Meeme, Dec. 23, 1898. On April 16, 1899, she was baptized in Zion Lutheran Church, Louis Corners, and was confirmed there May 16, 1913. She attended public school at Louis Corners, and was married to Mr. Karsteadt of the town of Herman June 28, 1919, by the Rev. Louis A. Witte, then pastor of Zion Lutheran church.
They resided on the Karsteadt home for a number of years, then at Pigeon Lake where Mr. Karsteadt operated a cheese factory. They lived in Sheboygan for five years, two years in Kiel, and for the past several years have been in Millhome.
Survivors are the husband, and six children, Marion of Kiel, Gloria, of Franklin, Wallace, Virginia Mae, Julianne and Don Lee all at home; her mother Mrs. Rautmann of the town of Meeme; four sisters, Mrs. Doris Fessler of St. Nazianz, Mrs. William Voss of town of Meeme, Mrs. Clara Meyer of Pigeon Lake, and Mrs. Hugo Winkel, Kiel route 1; three brothers, Otto of Cleveland, ??? of Sheboygan, Edwin and Armin of Kiel Route 1. One brother August died in service in 1918, and her father died four years ago
Funeral services will be Monday at the Meiselwitz Funeral home, and at St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed Church, the Rev. E. L. Worthman officiating.
