Raymond L. Sweet, 79, Seneca, died Tuesday, January 8, 1991, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Sweet operated a gasoline station in Soldier more than 30 years. He previously farmed in the Havensville and Corning area. He retired in 1975.
He was born April 5, 1911, near Iola, the son of John and Minnie (Disney) Sweet. He lived in Seneca the past 10 years.
He was married to Alice Melvin August 19, 1939. She died March 19, 1977. He was married to Mildred McClain November 13, 1980, in Seneca. She survives.
Other survivors include a stepson, Henry Melvin, Soldier; a sister, Gladys Cezar, Garland, Texas; three stepgrandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandchild.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Soldier Cemetery. Relatives and friends will meet after 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
