Girard - Jesse Sweet, 75, of Girard, died at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 1982, at the Heritage Nursing Home in Girard, where he had been a patient since 1975.
He was born May 24, 1906 in Iola, to John and Minnie Disney Sweet. He moved to the girard area about 60 years ago and had lived there since.
Mrs. Sweet was in electrical construction. He served with the navy in World War II.
He married Mary Horton December 31, 1935. She died in 1971.
Survivors include three sisters, Mirtie Barker of Ft. Scott, Gladys Cezar of Pittsburg and Veta Wilson of Girard; two brothers, Raymond Sweet of Seneca, Mo., and Hiram Sweet of Marysville.
