Abraham Hemry was the son of John and Catherine Hemry. He was probably born in Loudon County, Virginia. He accidently drowned while crossing the Maumee River. He was originally interred in the Old Cemetery southwest of Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana. The family had his remains exhumed and brought back home to Hicksville, Defiance County, Ohio and he was buried in Edson's Graveyard near Hicksville, Defiance County, Ohio. According to his probate record in Defiance County, Ohio a marble tombstone was to be erected and placed in Edson's Graveyard.
