Elmer E. Hamann | Elmer E. Hamann, 83, Route 1, Sheboygan Falls, died early this morning at St. Nicholas Hospital where he was a patient the past two days. | He was born Aug. 15, 1903, in the Town of Mosel, a son of the late Charles and Emma Wimmler Hamann. | He attended district school and graduated from Sheboygan Business College. | He was employed as a distributor for Grasse Bros. Oil Co. until 1937, when he moved to the Town of Sheboygan Falls, where he has farmed since that time. | On Nov. 3, 1928, he married Amanda Gutknecht. She died Aug. 1, 1981 | He was a member of the Salem Plankroad United Church of Christ in the Town of Sheboygan Falls, and served on the church consistory, and also was a member of the church brotherhood. | Mr. Hamann was also a life-long member of the Howards Grove and Johnsonville Fire Departments. | Survivors include one son, Charles of Sheboygan Falls; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Edna Kalk of Sunny Ridge Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by one daughter, four brothers and two sisters. | Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Salem Plankroad UCC, with the Rev. Keith Selberg, pastor, officiating. | Entombment will be in the Garden Terrace Mausoleum in Sheboygan Lutheran Cemetery. | Friends may call at the Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth from 3 p.m. Thursday until 11 a.m. Friday, and at the church from noon Friday until time of services. | A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Hamann’s name for the church. |
