Saturday, May 18, 1985, Sheboygan Press | Viola Kraatz | Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Kraatz, 88, formerly of 1705 N. 15th St., and a resident of Sunny Ridge the past eight years, who died Monday evening, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Nickel-Lippert Funeral Home. | The Rev. Lawrence Schmidt, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. | Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery. | Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and on Friday until the time of service. | The former Viola Hamann was born March 31, 1894, in the town of Centerville, a daughter of the late Charles and Minna Wimmler Hamann. | In 1915 she and Oscar Liebetrau were married in the Town of Mosel. He died in 1917. | On Nov 11, 1922, she and Edmund Kraatz were married in Sheboygan. Mr. Kraatz died Feb. 29, 1972. | Mrs. Kraatz is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Machtig and Mrs. David (Ruby) Praeger, both of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Clarence (Adelia) Manthey of the Town of Rhine; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; one brother, Elmer Hamann of the Town of Sheboygan Falls; and one sister, Mrs. Edna Kalk, Sheboygan. She was preceded in death by one great grandchild, five brothers and one sister. | A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Kraatz’s name for Sheboygan Area Lutheran High School. |
