A memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 28 Dec 1999, in All Saints Catholic Church in Mesa AZ for Thomas E Wernette, who died Dec 19 at age 80.
Mr. Wernette was born 28 Aug 1919 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. He earned his bachelor's and law degrees from Georgetown University. He moved to Portland in the mid-1950s. He was a claims manager for Safeco for 34 years until retiring and moving to Mesa in 1990. He married Bette Ruse in 1947.
Survivors include his wife; and sisters, Blanche Flajole of Whidbey Island WA, Mary Pfeiffer of Arcata CA, and Delores Velling of Prescott AZ.
Disposition was by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to the Benedictine Foundation, Mount Angel OR 97362; or Southwestern Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education Foundation, Scottsdale AZ 85255. Arrangements are by the Chapel of Prayer in Mesa.
