Rosemary Margaret Schneider, 93, passed away on September 19, 2017 and is now with the Lord and reunited with the love of her life, her husband, Donald E. Schneider. Rosemary was born on January 22, 1924 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (O’Leary) Koch. She graduated from Holy Innocents Grade School in 1938 and Lincoln High School in the class of 1942. On August 7, 1948, she married Donald E. Schneider at Holy Innocents Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on October 9, 2000. Rosemary spent her life loving and raising her five children, Donald E. Schneider, Jr., Manitowoc; Gregory P. (Robin) Schneider, Madison, WI; Sandra J. (Harold) Schnell, St. Nazianz, WI; Patrick G. (Lea) Schneider, Oconto, WI; and Ann C. (Thomas) Wege, Kerrville, TX. All of her children survive her along with 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Helen (Harold) Holschuh, Green Bay, WI, nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Margaret Koch; husband: Donald Schneider; three brothers: Harold Koch, Derwood “Danny” Koch, and John “Jack” Koch; and sister-in-law: Dorothy Ann Meisner.
Rosemary was a member of St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church and a former member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion, WI. Throughout her life, she was actively involved in the Wisconsin Citizens for Life believing all life was a gift from God. She was a member of the Secular Order of St. Francis, a 50 year member of Christian Mothers and Ladies Society, Catholic Women’s Club and the St. Clare Society. She was also a lifelong member of the Legion Auxilary and a member of the “Friends of St. Patrick”, Maple Grove. She was also actively involved with her husband Deacon Don in his ministry with the Catholic Church. She realized her dream in 1983 of traveling to the Grotto of Massabielle, Lourdes, France; Capelinha das Aparições Fatima, Portugal and the Vatican in Rome, Italy while on a Pilgrimage through Europe.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo from 10 a.m. on Friday until the time of services at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Manitowoc.
