Alfred G. Blandford, 64, of Allegheny Township died at 1:10 p.m. Thursday (May 29, 2003) in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, Harrison.

Born Jan. 26, 1939, in Lower Burrell, he lived there for most of his life. He had been an Allegheny Township resident the past seven years.

He was an inspector for the Westinghouse Corp., Cheswick, retiring in 1999. At the time of his death, he was a security guard for PPG Industries in Springdale.

Mr. Blandford was a member of Puckety Presbyterian Church, Lower Burrell, where he was the current chairman of the Mission Committee, a deacon, and member of the church session.

He enjoyed auto races, golf, bowling and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Lillian Masiarik Blandford; three sons, James (Gayle) Blandford of New Kensington, Kenneth Blandford of Allegheny Township and Kevin (Amy) Blandford of Natrona Heights; two daughters, Mrs. Kim (Terry) Soulcheck of Allegheny Township and Ms. Monte Stone of New Kensington; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two brothers, Melvin (Dolores) Blandford of Lower Burrell and Gary Blandford of Arnold; and a sister, Mrs. Phylis (Jeff) Burkcot of North Versailles.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert M. Blandford; his parents, Gordon and Wilma Nonamaker Blandford; and two brothers, Larry and Gordon Blandford.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, Lower Burrell.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Puckety Presbyterian Church, Lower Burrell, with his pastor, the Rev. Gary Close officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
