Wilma Ida Blandford, 92, of Lower Burrell, died at 10:20 a.m. Monday (Jan. 6, 2003) in Alle-Kiski Medical Center (formerly Allegheny Valley Hospital), Harrison.

Born July 6, 1910, in Pittsburgh, she lived in Lower Burrell for 62 years.

Mrs. Blandford worked for the care Connection in Springdale and was the custodian at Puckety United Presbyterian Church, Lower Burrell.

She was a member of Puckety United Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School, was a deacon and elder, member of the church choir and Missionary Society, and was instrumental in starting the Meals on Wheels program at the church. In addition, she was a member of the New Kensington Eastern Star.

Mrs. Blandford enjoyed participating in church related activities.

Survivors include three sons, Melvin (Dolores) Blandford of Lower Burrell, Alfred (Lillian) Blandford of Leechburg and Gary Blandford ofArnold; a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis (Jeffrey) Burkot of North Versailles; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Melva Sovoia of Homestead, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Blandford; two sons, Gordon and Larry Blandford; a grandson, Robert Blandford; her parents, William and Ida Rainey Nonamaker; two brothers, William and Babe Nonamaker; and two sisters, Charlotte McIlwee and Norma McIlwee.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, Lower Burrell.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Puckety United Presbyterian Church, Lower Burrell, with the Rev. Gary Close officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
