Burton J. Kissinger, 86, of rural Howards Grove, passed away November 16, 2013 at Morningside Health Center. He was born June 14, 1927 to the late George and Anna (Wolf) Kissinger. Burton served his country in the United States Air Force from 1946 until 1949 as an airplane and engine mechanic.

On February 11, 1956, he married the former Dawn (Pippert) Arnold at Faith Evangelical and Reform Church. She preceded him in death on February 9, 2007. Burton was every involved with his family and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting. He was a member of the Howards Grove VFW Post 9924.

He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Van De Kreeke (life partner, Harlan Martin), Howards Grove; one son, Kurt Kissinger, Dallas, TX; eight grandchildren, Jason (Sarah) Van De Kreeke, Brad Van De Kreeke, Bryan (Kim) Van De Kreeke, Anna Villafuentes, Chico Duran, Monolito Duran, Fransisco Duran and Valentino Villafuentes; 23 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Elvera Bunge.In addition to his parents and wife of 51 years, Burton was preceded in death by one daughter, Cathy Villafuentes and two brothers, Oliver and Clarence Kissinger.

Committal service with military honors will follow at the Siemer's Union Cemetery.
