Mrs. Edward (Elsa M) Janke, 64, of 340 S. Main St., Brillion, died at University Hospital, Madison Thursday following a lingering illness.
A life-long resident of Brillion, Mrs. Janke was born Oct. 27, 1892, the daughter of Peter Luecker and Maria Utke Luecker. She attended Brillion Public Schools and on Nov. 26, 1914 was united in marriage to Edward Janke at Brillion.
At the time of her death, Mrs. Janke was serving as vice president of the Women's Society for World Service of the Evangelical United Brethren Church. She was a past president of the Brillion Woman's Club, a charter member and past president of the Brillion Unit, American Legion Auxiliary, past matron of Brillion Chapter 203, Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Royal Neighbors.
Survivors are her husband and three sons, Ewald P., Port Washington, Elmer of Oshkosh and Everett of Chicago. Seven grandchildren also survive. One brother preceded Mrs. janke in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at Evangelical United Brethren Church at Brillion. The Rev. Gordon Core, will officiate, and burial will be made in the village cemetery.
