Funeral services for Epigmenia Peña, 81, of Lovington will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Deacon Pablo Merjil officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mrs. Peña was born on March 24, 1931 in Ojinaga, Mexico to Leandro and Ignacia (Arenivas) Parra and passed away on October 8, 2012 in Lovington. She married Juan Peña on October 31, 1959 in Ojinaga, Mexico. She enjoyed ceramics, was a good cook and was very family oriented. She loved having her family visit. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother; two sisters and one grandson. She is survived by five daughters: Lorenza Flores of Lovington, Margaret Rubealcaba of Irving, TX, Enedina Manzelli of Lovington, Christina and husband Samuel Bernal of Lovington; and Olivia and husband Cristino Balderrama of Lovington; and one son: Juan Peña Jr. of Lovington. Nineteen Grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 10th from 8:30 am until Rosary time.
