Ruben Born, 65, of Collins, died Thursday morning at Holy Family Hospital,
Manitowoc, following a heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church,
Valders. The Rev. Robert Onkka will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Born was born March 27, 1903, at Collins, son of the late August and Minnie
Sachse Born. He was a Collins hardware merchant and was a member of the Collins
Volunteer Fire Dept. of which he was secretary for many years.
Mr. Born was a member of the Valders School Board of Education, was president of
the Collins State Bank and was a director of the Collins Telephone Co. He
married Minnie Pallack Dec. 8, 1926, at Collins.
She survives along with a daughter, Miss Lois, of Manitowoc; a son, Roger, of
Collins; and five sisters, Mrs. Elwood Habermann, of Watertown, S.D., and Miss
Ella and Miss Hilda, Mrs. Arthur Helgeson and Mrs. Clarence Poe, of Collins.
Friends may call at Christianson Funeral Home, Valders, after 4 p.m. Friday
until noon Saturday and then at the church.
