Bernard Casper, 64, of 118N. Fillmore St., Fredonia, died Monday at St. Alphonsus Hospital, Port Washington, following a long illness.
He was born on March 7, 1906, the son of Joseph and Jenny (Junk) Casper. He was a blacksmith in Fredonia for 30 years before being employed by the Gilson Brothers Foundry.
Mr. Csper was a member of the St.Rose of Lima Parish and the Holy Name Society.
Surviving are his wife; four daughters, Mary Ann and Gloria at home; Mrs. Bruce (Theresa) Smith of Milwaukee; Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Wood of Fredonia; three sons, James of Inkster, Mich.; Wayne of Port Washington, and Joseph at home; two sisters, Mrs. Ray Schramm of Cleveland and Mrs. Harvey Leider of Manitowoc; four brothers, Rolland of South Bend, Ind., Raymond of Manitowoc, and Arnold and Alvin, both of Cleveland, and eight grandchildren.
A son preceeded him in death.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30a.m. in St. Rose Church, the Rev. Edward Czajkowski, pastor, clebrating the requiem Mass. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 3p.m., Wednesday at the Jungers Funeral Home, Dacada, where a Holy Name vigil will be held at 8p.m.
