Kenneth A. Froh

Kenneth A. Froh, age76, of 2418 Lakeshore Drive, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Ocy. 18, 2000 shortly after admittance to Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 21, 1924 in Sheboygan, a son of the late Henry and Emma (Wesner) Froh. He attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1943. Ken served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific aboard the U.S.S. Jason during World War II.

On July 17, 1948, he and Geri Gumm were united in marriage at St. John's U.C.C. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1998.

Ken attended the Chicago School of Watchmaking and graduated from there in 1949. He operated the watch repair department of Wilbert's Jewelry from 1951 to 1957. Ken and his wife, Geri established Froh Jewelers in 1957 and retired from there in 1998.

Ken was a member of St. John's U.C.C. and its Men's Brotherhood. He was also a member and former commander of V.F.W. Wolf-Olson Post # 1230. Sheboygan Elks Lodge #299 and the Elks National Foundation, a charter member of the Sheboygan Evening Optimist Club where he had served in various capacities including three terms as president, American Watchmakers Insinuate, Wisconsin Hordological Society and a member of the Kings Chordsmen Barbershop Chorus.

He enjoyed traveling, camping and garedening. Ken also enjoyed time spent visiting with his customers in his shop on North Eight Street and especially the great times spent with his grandchildren and family at his cottage at Wilke Lake. Ken will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Geri; his daughter, and son-in-law, Christine and Tom Walvoord of Plymouth; his son and daughter-in-law, Michael Froh and Susan White of Elkhart Lake; four grandchildren, Joe, Rachel and Peter Walvoord and Phillip Schneider; two sisters, Bernice Hrgon of Sheboygan Falls, and Harriet Rusch of Sheboygan; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Marlyn Froh of Waukesha, Beatrice Schlafke of Sheboygan and Ronald Gumm of Sheboygan along with other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Lorraine and his brother, Donald.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000 at St John's United Church of Christ. The Rev. Gregory Whelton, pastor, will officiate. Burial will take place in Wildwood Cemetery with military honors being accorded by V.F.W. Wolf-Olson Post #1230.

Visitation will be held at Ramm-Ziegler-Novak- Rettke Funeral Home, Northside Chapel, 726 Michigan Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday (TODAY) and at the church from 11:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service. St. John's Brotherhood will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home at 6 p.m. Friday followed by the Elk's Lodge #299 memorial service at 6:15 p.m.

In lie of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Ken's name for Sheboygan Evening Optimist Club youth programs and St. John's U.C.C.
