He is found in the 1880 census in New Haven, Conn. with wife Margaret, aged 45, and children John 20, Eliza 17, Nicholas 13, Peter 9, Leonard 7, and William 3. He is also found there in the 1860 census, and it appears there was also a son Peter, born c.1859.

Enlisted in Company F, 20th Infantry Regiment Connecticut on 8 Sep 1862.
Mustered Out Company F, 20th Infantry Regiment Connecticut on 13 Jun 1865 at Fort Lincoln, Washington, DC.

Nicholas Condolff, 71, died suddenly yesterday at the home of his niece Mrs Peter Borlen, of Buckland. Heart trouble caused his death. He was an inmate of the Odd Fellows home at North Hights, Ct., and was away on furlough. He leaves four sons living in New Haven, Ct.
