Funeral services for Roger Greene, 57, will be at 2pm Friday at the Endeavor Presbyterian Church with Dr. Edward L. Mayer officiating.
Friends may call Thursday evening from 7-9 pm at the Montgomery Funeral Home in Alexandria with Masonic rites there at 8 o' clock. The body will also lie in state at the church Friday from 1pm until the time of service. Burial will be be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Artesian.
Mr. Greene was born March 19, 1914 to Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Greene and died Dec. 29 of an apparent heart attack. He was owner and operator of the Greene Oil Company. He was a member of state and national LP Gas Association, Independent Oilmen's Association, Elks, Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Woonsocket Commandary, Yankton Consistory, El Riad Shrine, Corn Palace Chiefs of Mitchell, school board and city council. He was an elder in the church.
On June 19, 1937 he married Jean Wise.
Survivors include his widow; one son, Terry Letcher; a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Linda) Leavy, Louisville, Ky.; his mother, Howard; a brother, LaVerne, Rapid City; and three sisters, Miss Fama Greene, Howard; Mrs. Irma Clemenson, Mitchell, and Mrs. Doris Clark, Oak Harbor, Wash.
