Mrs. Josephine Sommer, 84, died Thursday of a heart attack at her home, 1449 S. 9th St.
A sister Mrs. Last, not hearing from her for the past day or so, investigated and found the home locked. A window was broken in order to gain entrance and Mrs. Sommer was found dead on the floor of her bedroom. Dr. Reed M. Simpson, Sheboygan County coroner, said death was due to a heart attack.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman A. Sommer on Oct. 8, 1950.
The former Josephine Mallmann, she was born in the Town of Lima Dec. 21, 1873, a daughter of Herman and Bertha Mallmann. She attended parochial school in Sheboygan Falls and on Dec. 15, 1897, was married to Herman Sommer, settled in Sheboygan and has lived here since.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Survivors are a foster son, Ingeman Sommer of Marquette, Mich., a brother, Jacob Mallmann, of Sheboygan Falls, and three sisters, Mrs. August (Meta) Last of Sheboygan Falls, Miss Alma Mallmann of Milwaukee, and Miss Selma Mallmann of Appleton.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at the Ramm Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Monday, the Rev. C. W. Ladewig, pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Sunday.
