Earl Raye Goforth
1938 - 2005

Earl Raye Goforth, 67, of Pensacola, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2005 in
North Carolina. He was a man of faith, and was a devoted husband, father,
grandfather, brother, and friend.

Earl was born on May 17, 1938 to Hezekiah and Josephine Goforth in Marshall, NC.
He attended Marshall High School. He entered the Army, where he served his
country for three years. For many years, Earl was employed as a long distance
truck driver until he joined the work force of APAC-NWFL division in 1982. He
was a dedicated employee until his death. Not only a dedicated employee and
family man, Earl was a devoted fan of local racing and NASCAR. Many weekends,
you found Earl watching and rooting for his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt. His
other passion in his life was his grandchildren, whom he loved with every beat
of his heart.

He was preceded in death by both parents and sisters, Audrey and Sonya.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Julie Goforth; three children, Matthew
Goforth, of Johnson City, TN, Susan (Doug) McCaskill of Pensacola, and Katie
(Mike) Kehoe, of Gulf Breeze; grandchildren, Nigel, Shannon, Jacques, David,
Lishika, and Lestasia; three brothers, Randle (Kay) Goforth, Sr., of Concord,
NC, Conley (Jane) Goforth and Denny (Debbie) Goforth, both of Marshall, NC; two
sisters, Betty Jean Redmon of Jackson, MS, and Thelma Faye (Wayne) Ramsey of
Marshall, NC; brother-in-law, Eric Boykin of Pensacola; and sister-in-law Denece
(Gary) Lockwood also of Pensacola. He also leaves to cherish his memory numerous
nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2005 at
Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Dr. Phillip McVay of Cokesbury
United Methodist Church officiating. The family will receive friends at the
funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

Active pallbearers will be Doug McCaskill, Mike Kehoe, Jeff Goforth, Matthew
Goforth, Kyle Goforth and Robbie Goforth.

Flowers are appreciated or contributions can be made to the American Heart
Association.
