Betty was born November 13, 1931 to the late Hezekiah and Josephine McKinnish Goforth in Marshall NC. She was predeceased by her husband, David; grandson, Keith Redmon; brothers, Earl and Randall; sisters, Sonja and Audery. She is survived by brothers, Conley and wife, Jane, Denny and wife, Debbie; sister, Faye Ramsey, all of Marshall, NC; sister-in-law, Julie Goforth of Pensacola, Fl. She is also survived by a son, Danny Redmon of Marshall, NC; and her daughter, Debbie Harris and husband, William Larry, of Ridgeland, MS. She is also survived by the loves of her life, her granddaughter, Morgan Harris of Oxford, MS and grandsons, Hunter Harris of Corpis Christi, TX and Will Harris of Hattiesburg, MS.
Her greatest joy in life was raising her grandson, Keith Redmon, taking him to Little Beaver and having play dates with his best friend, Brad Wilson. Brad and Betty remained in very close touch and he was considered a member of her family.
Betty lived in Asheville, NC all her life prior to moving to Jackson, MS to be close to her daughter and grandchildren. She was the oldest of eight children and absolutely adored her grandparents, Ell and Sis Goforth. She loved gardening, planting, and growing fruits and vegetables and buying, refinishing and collecting antiques.
