Edgar R. Baumann, 100, formerly of Sheboygan,passed away Saturday November 27, 2010, at Sunny Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Born October 21, 1910 in Plymouth, WI, Edgar was a son of the late Herman and Clara Selle Baumann. He attended area schools.
On June 9, 1937, he was united in marriage to Alice E. Voss in Louis Corners, WI. They were married for 62 years before Alice preceded him in death on September 11, 1999.
Edgar worked in the Enamel Shop at the Kohler Co. for 27 years, retiring in 1975.
He was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club and the UAW Local 833. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, dancing and woodworking. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his four children, Janice (Joel) Gordon of Highland Park, IL, Sharon (James) Richter of Sheboygan, William, Sr. (Nancy) Baumann of Sheboygan, and Steven Baumann of Albany, OR; seven grandchildren, James Gordon of Highland Park, IL, Robin Richter of Sheboygan, Anthony (Debra) Richter of Sheboygan, Catherine (Eric) Meyer of Belgium, WI, Victoria (Samson) Tan of Centralia, WA, Kari (Michelle Mallonen) Baumann of Cudahy, WI, and William Baumann, Jr. of Sheboygan Falls; five great grandchildren, Jaclyn (Isaac) Guzman of Manitowoc, Neil Richter of Sheboygan, Sidney and Silas Tan of Centralia, WA, and Kallia Kaiser of Cudahy; one sister, Margaret (Len) Kassel of West Allis, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Erma Eckemann.
Funeral services for Edgar will take place December 4, 2010 at the Lippert-Olson Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Avenue. The Rev. Alan Kretschmar, pastor of St. Paul Ev. Church will officiate. Interment will take place in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
