She was born in Sheboygan on September 30, 1919 daughter of the late Alex and Beata (Schaefer) Beck.
She married Norman Payne on August 5, 1939 in Plymouth, the couple celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary this past August.
She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Adell.
During her working career she worked for the Douglas Company in Plymouth and the Waldo Canning Factory for many years. In her free time she enjoyed quilting and sewing making many different creations. She also enjoyed spending time up North with her family and wintering with her husband in Florida.
She is survived by her husband, Norman of Adell, five sons of which she was very proud of due to the fact that they served in each branch of the military;, Gilbert (Marie) Payne of Plymouth, James (Virginia) Payne of Sheboygan, Thomas Payne of Cedar Grove, Jerry (Betty) Payne of Adell, Philip Payne of Little Elkhart Lake, 10 grandsons; six great- grandchildren; and three step great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons; four sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 22, 2010 at the Schneider Funeral Home in Plymouth with the Rev. Christopher Seifferlein, pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Adell.
