Jemima Cozart (1819-1877), said to be daughter of William Cozart (ca 1787 • Orange Co., North Carolina-death after 1870, Person Co., North Carolina) and Dicy Carrington, (ca1784-1788 • Orange Co., North Carolina-death ca 1850-1863 • Person Co., North Carolina).

Note that Jemima and her husband Thomas King have their Marriage Bond/Marriage License from Person County, North Carolina. 1870 was Jemima's last census; she was age 57 at her death on 01 May 1877 (tombstone); her youngest child, Texana was age 15.

She is buried in an older part of Mount Lebanon General Baptist Church Cemetery, Webster County, Kentucky. She has a tombstone inscribed: "JEMIMA * Wife of * THOMAS KING * BORN * JUL 22, 1819 * DIED * MAY 1, 1877 [Epitaph unclear]"

Jemima's vital statistics are also inscribed on her husband Thomas King's headstone: "THOMAS KING * BORN SEPT 17, 1836 * DIED JUNE 15, 1909 ~~~ JEMIMA KING * BORN JULY 22, 1819 * DIED MAY 1, 1877 ~~~"

MARY (SHELTON) KING DIED
Death of Mary Louise (Shelton) King (1861–1902) 17 Aug 1902 (tombstone), Webster Co., Kentucky. She has a headstone that is now located next to that of Thomas King at Mount Lebanon General Baptist Church Cemetery, Webster Co., Kentucky.

THOMAS KING outlived both of his wives. In his will of 1903, probated in 1910, he named a guardian for the care of five of his youngest children.
