OBITUARY:
William B. "Bill" Vogt, 88, of Ames died Friday of a heart attack at mary Greeley Medical Center. Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Ames, with the Rev. Christopher J. Daniel officiating. Burial will be in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.
William Vogt was born in Story County to George and Rose (Switzer) Vogt. He married Loretta Miller in Des Moines on June 22, 1933. A lifetime resident of Story County, he lived in Ames since the mid-1930's. He was a graduate of Shipley High School, and was a partner in the McDowell Indusance Company before becoming owner of Vogt Realty. He retired in 1984. He was a charter member of the Ames Elks Lodge, and a past president of the Ames Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his wife of Ames, two daughters, Barbara Berry of Des Moines, and Carol McKinney of Richardson, Texas, seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
