George was born Sept. 26, 1882 at El Paso, Illinois, son of Ben and Ellen Vogt. He had lived in Story County 57 years.
December 1905 he was married to Rose Switzer in Story County. He was a member of the E.U.B. church.
Surviving are two sons, William Vogt of Ames, and Perl Vogt of Grundy Center; three daughters, Mrs Elizabeth Augustine of Albion, Mrs Dorothy Posegate of Ames and Mrs Ellen Whitley of Germany; three brothers, Bert of Nevada, Clarence of Whitten and James of Ames and two sisters, Mrs Della Womack of Elma and Mrs Mattie Shearer of Ames.
