Gilbert R. Henschel, 82, of 823 Fourth Street, Kiel, died Wednesday morning, January 31, at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan, where he was a patient for one week.
He was born April 25, 1907, at Kiel, son of the late Charles and Anna Voland Henschel. On June 20, 1931, he married Lydia Roethel at St. John United Church of Christ, Schwarzwald. He worked for a number of years at Laun Furniture in Kiel, 20 years with Wisconsin Public Service, and operated the former Gib's Service Station in Kiel for 25 years, retiring in 1971. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel, and a former deacon at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Lydia; a son, Charles (Leslee) of Titusville, Florida; one daughter, Mary Ann (Richard) Jost of Kiel; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
