In accordance with his request, there will be no services for Samuel Bernard Burns, 81, of Port Townsend, who died Thursday, Dec. 21, 1989, at Jefferson County Hospital.
Cremation is under the direction of Kosec Funeral Home; inurnment will be in Shrine Cemetery at a later date.
Mr. Burns was born Sept. 30, 1908, in Olympia, to Wilfred and Mary E. Wagner Burns. He attended school in Olympia. He married Shiley Kathleen Kilmer on Oct. 30, 1936, in Port Townsend. In subsequent years, he lived in a variety of locations, including Alaska, before returning to Port Townsend in 1961. He was a retired log truck driver.
He was a member of the Lumber and Sawmill Workers union in Port Angeles.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, one daughter, 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
