Shipmanifest shows Johann to be born in 1876, His WWI draft card lists his birthday as Nov 11 1874. His obituary states his birth as Nov 11 1873. I think the first is closer.

John Meindle Obit
John Meindle, 89, Route 1, Junction City, died at 9:30 a.m. today at the Portage County Infirmary. He had been ill for the past month.
He was the father of Mrs. Harold C. Kopperud and Miss Eulalia Meindle both of 1220 main st.
Funeral arrangements are being made at the Martens Funeral Home at Junction City, where friends may call after 9 o'clock Tuesday morning.

Meindle Rites Wednesday
Funeral services for John Meindle, Route 1, Junction City, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Martens Funeral Home at Junction City. George Packard will conduct the rites and burial will be made in Runkle Cemetery in the town of Eau Pleine.
Mr. Meindle died Monday morning at Portage County Infirmary, where he had been ill for the past month.
Mr. Meindle was born November 11 1873, in Munich Germany, Son of Mr. and Mrs Peter Meindle. At the age of 10, He came with his parents to Junction City area. At the age of 14 he was apprenticed to a baker in Milwaukee where on Feb. 18 1899 he married Alma Boettcher.
They lived first at Phillips for 13 years, then moved to Milwaukee and remained there until 1916 when they moved to the Junction City area and farmed in the town of Eau Pleine. MRs Meindle died on May 23 1955.
Mr. Meindle was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 255, [email protected]. at Phillips.
He is survived by two daughters. Mrs Harold Kopperud and Miss Eulalia Meindle, both of 1220 Main St.; four sons, Ormand, Louis, Edwin and Jack Meindle, all of Milwaukee and 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was precede in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, a brother and two sisters.

Mr. Meindle's Funeral
Funeral services were held at Martens Funeral Home at Junction City Thursday afternoon for John Meindle, Route 1, Junction City, who died Monday morning. The Rev. George Packard officiated, and burial was made in Runkel Cemetery in the town of Eau Pleine.
Pallbearers were Clarence Bernhagen, Ed Havitz, Carl Grestad, Paul Olson, Leonard Palmer, Virgil Seavers.
Ed Havitz and Mrs Virgil Seavers, accompanied by Mrs. Frank Roach sang "Asleep in Jesus" and "Beyond the Sunset."
Friends and relatives who attended included Miss Esther Boether and Mrs Helen Means, Milwaukee; Mrs Henry Boettcher and Mrs. John Boettcher, Birnamwood; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Stanczyk, Hatley; Mrs James Passineau, Mr and Mrs. Tom Kneich, Mr. and Mrs Steven Michelkamp and Walter Roman all of Wisconsin Rapids; Arthur Held, Mrs. George Frost, Mr. and Mrs. Elmerman, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Heitzinger and miss Barbara Green of Stevens Point; and others from Junction City and the surrounding area.
