JERRY H. DHEIN
(1939 - 2023)

Jerry Dhein, age 84, Manitowoc, passed away early Friday morning, October 6, 2023 at Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation, following a joyful evening of love and laughs spent with his children and grandkids.

Jerry was born in Cleveland, WI on June 20, 1939 to Woodrow and Esther (Sommer) Dhein.

He was united in marriage to Trudy M. Filliez on November 18, 1961 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Two Rivers. The couple was blessed with four children and fifty-two years of marriage. Trudy preceded him in death on December 29, 2013.

Jerry worked as a foreman for Gabe's Construction of Sheboygan for 17 years. He later worked in sales at Knollwood Memorial Park, and retired from Calvary Chapel Mausoleum of Manitowoc. He enjoyed working around his home, making firewood, ATV riding, and restoring his 1952 John Deere tractor. Jerry was truly a Jack of All Trades and could fix anything that was put in front of him. He had a unique gift of telling stories and jokes and will be affectionately remembered as the Biggest Bullshitter in Eastern Manitowoc County. Jerry's three main missions in life were to work hard, lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, and to make everyone around him laugh.

He is survived by his four children: Neil (Candy) Dhein of Clover, Karice (Jeff) Scharenbroch, Jayne (Mark) Nagel, all of Manitowoc, and Philip (Tammy) Dhein of Cleveland; nine grandchildren: Claire and Teddy Dhein; Daniel (Christy) Miller, Dallas (Nya) Miller; Jack Scharenbroch; Halle and Nick Nagel; James and Joseph Dhein; and three great-grandchildren: Owen, Natalie, and Ascher Miller. He is further survived by two brothers & sisters-in-law: Ralph (Luellen) Dhein of Howards Grove, James (Joyce) Dhein of Cedarburg; his in-laws: Sharlene Kasper, Karen (Arthur) Bangart, Juleen Snyder, Charles Filliez, and Lee (Debbie) Filliez; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Esther Dhein; his wife, Trudy; one brother & sister-in-law, Donald (Lois) Dhein; and brothers & sisters-in-law, Ardis and Manuel Rosado, Steven Snyder, and Richard Filliez.

In accordance with Jerry's wish, a graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at St. Johannes Cemetery in Cleveland (Please meet at the cemetery.) Rev. Dave Beaudry will preside at the graveside service, with burial to follow next to his wife Trudy in St. Johannes Cemetery.

Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels of Two Rivers is assisting the Dhein family with funeral arrangements.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Scott Rogala and Vern Troullier for their special friendship and support over the years. Special thanks also to the entire staff at the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center for going above and beyond in their compassionate care for Jerry.
